Wokingham's Sunny Saturdays set to continue

October 05, 2012

Wokingham's Sunny Saturdays proved so successful this year that it will continue next summer.

The weekly free entertainment organised by Wokingham Town Council usually runs every Saturday from June to August, but was this year extended from May to September.

A range of artists including Pottytree Puppets, Hurst Morris People, St Sebastian Wokingham Band and Star Rhapsody Steel Band performed outside Wokingham Town Hall in Market Place.

Organiser Mike Dunstan said: “The extension has been well received. Some of the performers put chairs out and they were often full. It offers shoppers the chance to put their feet up, have a rest and listen to live entertainment.”

The programme finished on Saturday with performances from BBC Berkshire Choir and jazz and pop act Bagg’s Tree Buskers.
