Visitors to Jocks Lane can learn more about the life in the countryside with a fantastic Celebrating Woods Day. on Saturday.

During the day you can learn about traditional woodland crafts through a variety of demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Aimed at all ages, there will be the opportunity to try your hand at the ancient skill of hazel coppicing, wood turning, hurdle making, hedge laying and green chair making.

Entertainment will be provided by local morris dancers and there will be a family-friendly treasure trail.

Organisers have also arranged for a miniature steam railway to pay a visit and there will be green-gardening and wood products up for sale.

Hungry visitors will be able to enjoy a barbecue. The day starts at 10am and continues to 3pm.
