Meet police at open day

September 03, 2010

Thames Valley Police is opening its doors to the public for an open day this weekend.

People are being invited to visit the Thames Valley Police training centre in Sulhamstead, near Reading, on Saturday between 10am and 4pm to find out more about the force’s work.

The open day aims to help promote greater understanding of the work of the various departments and specialist roles within the force.

The public will have the opportunity to look around the force museum and get the chance to meet officers from the force’s specialist departments.

Police cars will be on display and scenes of crime officers will take mugshots and fingerprints, while visitors can solve an interactive crime.

Admission is £2.50 per adult and free for under 16s.

An open day you pay for? These budget cuts must be bad!!! Can't they just put up more speed cameras? "Mugshots and fingerprints" will be taken, hmmmm... wonder what database they'll end up on!!!

£2.50!!!!!! To see our OWN police force ??????!!!!!

I guess that explains why they never turn up when I call them - they're waiting for their fee before making an attendance :-)
