Pundits views are so pie-in-the-Sky

28/ 9/2005

FOOTBALL debate of the moment is whether the greedy Premiership has lost it big style and is now quite boring, while shifting £45 out of your pocket per game for the privilege.

The Premiership is of course boosted by the cash from Sky, and so I found it strange how every sports show I saw over the weekend seemed to have the presenters discussing the question - the vast majority subtlety dismissing it as media-hype and rubbish.

This is the channel where commentators routinely tell us dire draws between dullards like Middlesbrough and Villa are crackers.

Of course, this can't have anything to do with the fact that Sky's multitude of well-paid experts work for a major corporation defending its multi-million investment by making sure everyone is on-message. Surely not.
