Mission Accomplished: Bamboo, Station RoadBy Miss L'Amour
March 31, 2010
After leaving Reading in June 2009 to take a well-deserved break from the promotions game, Push the Pressure Entertainment returned earlier in the month for a brand new night.
It had chosen the newish club Bamboo for the official launch party of the Funky-2-Phunky UK club tour, on Saturday, March 13.
This event, held in the club that’s just opposite Reading’s train station, attracted people from all over. They were coming down to party in the welcoming atmosphere that Push The Pressure Entertainment aims to bring to all their events.
Resident DJ Soundwave kicked the night off with a selection of classic R’n’B, building up the vibe for fellow resident Kay-L to take over with some more up-to-date jams. He kept the crowd on their toes, leaving them wanting more.
Kay-L was followed by The Firm who kept it sizzling for the night’s headliner, DJ Celebrity Supa.
He is one of London’s leading funky house DJs and it wasn’t long before he had the whole place dancing to some of the best sounds around.
Finishing the night off with those classic smooth grooves we all know and love was again DJ Kay-L. He soon had the young and old alike singing and dancing to the likes of Cameo’s 1980s hit Candy.
Push the Pressure Entertainment’s next event is called Theemed and will take place on Saturday, April 10. It will again be held at Bamboo.
The Funky-2-Phunky UK club tour continues in May. For more details or forthcoming gigs, log on to www.pushthepressure-ents.com.
Bar Mango in Hosier Street welcomes Miss Moneypennys for its new residency this Saturday. Its guest DJ is Timmy Vegas. Entry is £3 for girls and £5 for guys before midnight.
On Easter Sunday, the club welcomes the Bora Bora World Tour with DJs Rob Roar, Paulo and Dancing Martin.
On Easter Sunday, the After Dark club will host a Fools Gold night. The old-school indie night, which used to run fortnightly at the club, is returning for a one-off Easter special.
