Don't miss library's craft sessions & book clubs

September 02, 2010

Bookworms can take a break from turning pages and turn their hands to a range of crafts at Bracknell Library.

Crafty folk can have a go at everything from painting on glass and making greetings cards to beading and table centre decorations at a series of adult sessions starting on Tuesday.

The sessions will be held at the Town Square library every Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm and are free but participants can make a contribution to costs.

Less crafty book-lovers can share their literary views at a monthly afternoon reading group for adults.

The group meets on the first Friday of every month with the next meeting taking place tomorrow (Friday, September 3).

Meetings take place from 1.30pm and the books for discussion are chosen by members of the group or librarians.

Councillor Iain McCracken, Bracknell Forest Council’s executive member for culture, said: “Everyone is welcome to join these groups, in fact, the more the merrier and more interesting.

“It’s a great way to meet people who share your interests and you can also find out what else is on offer at the borough’s libraries.

“There’s so much going on to appeal to all age groups.”
