By Laura Herbert
March 19, 2013

A learning support assistant is preparing to take on a five-day cycling challenge in Kenya to raise money for three cancer charities.

Cathy Willis is part of a group of women tackling the Women V Cancer 400km ride through the Rift Valley, starting on the slopes of Mount Kenya and finishing at Lake Victoria starting on June 15.

The 44-year-old, of Woosehill, has been training hard and is hoping to raise a total of at least £2,900 in support of Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

To help reach the target, Mrs Willis will be holding a quiz night and raffle at Walter Infant School, in Murray Road, on Saturday evening.

For more information about the event email cat.willis7@ntlworld.com or visit www.justgiving.com/Cathydoeskenya to sponsor Mrs Willis.
