Hotel manager in need of double kidney transplant to hold charity fundraiser

A hotel manager in need of a double kidney transplant is hosting a quiz night to mark World Kidney Day next month.
Gavin Bennetto has been waiting two and a half years for a transplant after he was diagnosed with double kidney failure.
He and fiancée Wendy Morgan are organising the fundraiser at their place of work, Cantley Lodge Hotel.
Miss Morgan, who works as front of house at the hotel in Wellington Road, said: “Gavin has dialysis three times a week at Royal Berkshire Hospital and having the transplant would change his life completely.
“The quiz is the start of many fundraising event as we want to raise awareness.”
World Kidney Day will be marked this year on Thursday, March 14.
The quiz and fish and chip supper takes place at the hotel on Friday, March 15, from 7.30pm.
Tickets are £7.50 and available from the hotel.
