Father and son's marathon charity effort

A father and son preparing to take part in a gruelling six-day adventure across the Sahara desert are hosting a fundraising event on Saturday.
Dale and Craig Thomas will be joined by Jon Scanlan as they take part in the Marathon des Sables, known as the MdS, completing six marathons in six days.
The rules require anyone taking part to be self-sufficient and carry everything they need to survive, except water.
Competitors are given a tent to sleep in but other equipment and food must be carried.
Ahead of the expedition in April in aid of WalkOnceMore charity, the trio are hosting a fundraising event at Cantley House Hotel, in Wellington Road, this weekend.
The evening will include on-screen horse racing, an auction, raffle and live music. Tickets are £20 and available from Craig Thomas on 07922 259786. All proceeds will go to the charity.
