Can you help find a cat missing since November?

By Hugh Fort
February 19, 2013

A cat missing since November has still not returned.

Black and white Bailey, has still not returned home since going missing from Blagrove Drive in Wokingham last year.

The cat is not micro-chipped.

Anyone who may have seen him can call 07912549555.

OK - thanks for that clarification.

For what it's worth, I took an old stray tom who hung around in our garden for a few years and once he was neutered he lived out his remaining few years (he was expensively FIV) happily as an predominantly-indoor cat.

   Vet.

I was not enamoured with TVAW as one time I called them about a specific cat they had on their site. I did not hear anything back from them but they DID give my private home number to someone who then called me to try to get me to take his cats that he no longer wanted/could no longer look after.

Erm...when you say you killed him, what did you do?! I don't I want to know?!

For the record, although they're busy, Thames Valley Animal Welfare do their best to take in strays, and it might be worth looking on their website or contacting them if you have a stray hanging around that you're concerned about.

I have a bundle of warm fur currently snoozing on my sofa who was a stray in Henley, and he's now the most adorable kitty. If I could take more in, then I would...

He split his time between the next door neighbours shed and a shelter that I have in the garden for any stray that wanders past. I've actually 'fostered' 4 strays over the past 6 years but this is the first one I could not get to the CPL unfortunately.

And he went from relatively ok on Friday to a wheezy chest Saturday morning at 7 am to unable to walk by 7 pm Saturday to unconsious by 10 pm Saturday. There was nothing to do. He was not a cat that enjoyed being indoors, and I'm afraid £100 on ab's for a cat that would immediately have moved back outside was more than I was really willing to pay.

Whitespirit, just out of curiousity, did you provide shelter for your resident stray? Would a course of antibiotics not have dealt with his chest infection rather than the more draconian euthenasia?

BTW - not criticizing, simply asking.

So now Jeppo's comment has been removed meaning my reply just looks rather more silly than usual. Why on earth remove it, there was nothing offensive in it.

And for the record, I did not complain about it.

My name is my name. I could tell you it is G Smith and you would have no way of knowing whether I am telling the truth or not.

My friends know who I am and they know I use whitespirit on here. Others on here also know who I am, both online and offline. Changes nothing. You have no way of proving you are telling the truth about your name and I have no way of proving I am.

What I am telling the truth about is feeding a stray cat that lived in my back garden twice a day for the past 18 months. The CPL were unable to take him in due to the recession. Sadly i had to kill him recently as he got a chest infection and was in so much pain that it would have been unfair and cruel to keep him alive. If you want to I'm sure you can contact Pets At Home and ask them if they killed a stray on Sunday the 10th.

Now, get over yourself, get over your faux outrage at the comments posted here and help buseng get over their faux outrage.

Oh the irony of Jeppo posting a comment attkcing others on here for not using their real names. And jeppo is of course the name given to them by their parents.

Or maybe not - and hypocrisy stands strong and proud.

The cat may well have been taken in by someone after straying; it is not necessarily dead.

However I hope the owners take heart at the fact that many animals are reunited with their owners after longer than 3 months.

I would just also like to say that although I too find buseng's rather sanctimonous postings annoying, I suspect he's a old boy and I think we should all collectively respect our elders.

To Baileys owner Please accept my apologies for some of the comments placed on this site regarding your missing cat. It was just a simple notice requesting any information nothing else. Yet your action resulted in individuals making insensitive and hurtful remarks and yes loving this response also. If I were a gutless individual that made a challenging remark like they have I would at least put my real name up to highlight How brave I am sat behind the computer flexing my digital muscle as an online bully with a low opinion of his fellow man or themselves. I wish you luck in your search.

Probably dead now as it's been missing for that long. Maybe at least some small birds and mice have slipped his grasp!

Silenced by an off-topic but topical horse pun.....

It might be worth looking here: http://www.dbarc.org.uk/cats.html

If Bailey doesn't return home, I'm sure that the people at DBARC would be happy to discuss if they can help in other ways.
