Improved Norreys community spirit praised

Improved community spirit was praised as a neighbourhood reflected on projects launched in the past three years.
Norreys residents travelled to All Saints School last Tuesday to assess the successes of initiatives started since the Community Signature consultation in 2009.
Wokingham Borough Council community partnerships manager John Cawdell said: “We got some excellent responses and we’re really happy with the enthusiasm shown by those who showed up – especially the youngsters.”
The consultation found road safety was a major concern and the council worked with residents and partners on projects including a traffic slowing campaign near schools and a community garden.
Mr Cawdell added: “There is generally a positive feel about what has happened the past years. People were saying there has been some real improvement in community spirit.”
