January 31, 2013

Swimmers in Wokingham can take part in the Swimathon at two of the borough’s leisure centres to raise money for charity.

Fundraisers can take on the 5km, 2.5km and 1.5km individual challenge or the team 5km or 1.5km challenges while raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The nationwide challenge takes place at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre, in Lower Earley, and Carnival Pool Leisure Centre, in Wokingham, between Friday, April 26 and Sunday, April 28.

Entries for Swimathon 2013 opened this month.

Tony Penge, contract manager at the leisure centres, said: “Swimathon is a fantastic way to bring our community together, to raise money for charity and provides a great challenge.”

Swimmers who enter online at www.swimathon.org before Thursday, January 31, will receive half price entry.

Entries close on Wednesday, April 24.
