Volunteers celebrated a decade of work at a community resource centre.

Staff from Earley CResCent Community and Resource Centre in Warbler Drive cooked a three-course meal for 70 helpers and trustees as they celebrated its 10th anniversary on Friday, January 11.

Centre manager Kate Long said: “We have more than 60 volunteers and many have been with us since we started.

“It was a really nice time as it’s not often we can all get together.”

Diners also tested their knowledge in a quiz.

Mrs Long is delighted with how the centre’s services have grown since 2003 and hopes it can continue to support its users in the changing climate of the next decade. A lot of people refer to us as being the heart of the community,” she added. “The types of use has really expanded over the last 10 years and we now reach nearly all members of the community.”
