Animal treats given to vets donated to animal charities

Boxes of pet treats and toys have been donated by clients of a Finchampstead veterinary surgery to two major animal charities.

Customers of Nine Mile Veterinary Group generously gave cat and dog food and toys as part of the surgery’s annual appeal.

Items collected were presented to the Cats Protection and Greyhound Lifeline charities on Monday.

Veterinary nurse Rachel Arnold said: “This year it was absolutely amazing. We seem to get quite a lot every year but this year the response was fantastic.

“We collected about two boxes of cat items and about three to four boxes for dogs. We also had a lot of rabbit items so we may need to look for a rabbit charity to give them to.”

The surgery, in Nine Mile Ride, hosts a drop box in reception from the end of November and collects for two charities every year.

The practice is also raising awareness of treating dogs for lungworm and using Advocate as a treatment. For more information call the surgery on (0118) 973 3466 or visit www.ninemilevets.co.uk.
