A parent-led  charity raising funds for a community centre for disabled children has received a big boost from the town’s Lions Club.

Past and present presidents of Wokingham Lions Club presented a cheque for £2,500 to the Building for the Future charity at the club’s Christmas dinner at Bearwood Golf Club on Wednesday, December 19.

Building for the Future aims to provide support and activities for disabled children and their families and is raising money for centre to provide a space for their clients.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds are needed for the facility that would hold a sensory room, a wheelchair accessible playground, therapy rooms and a place for parents to relax.
