Olympics and Diamond Jubilee theme for Twyford Christmas tree festival

By Jon Nurse
October 30, 2012

Twyford will be awash with the colours of the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee for its Christmas Tree Festival.

The festival is over four days in December, at St Mary’s Church in Station Road.

Organiser Paul Bromley said: “Our theme this year will reflect the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympics, with lots of gold, diamonds and, of course, red, white and blue.

“All village organisations, clubs and businesses are invited to take part by displaying their own tree. We had 2,000 visitors last year and we hope to do better than that this time round.”

The festival opens on Thursday, December 6, and continues until Sunday, December 9, with admission free between 11am and 4.30pm.

Tickets will be available from Wednesday, November 7, from Brighton’s newsagents in London Road, from the church office and by calling (0118) 934 4792. For information contact Mr Bromley on pambromley46@gmail.com.
