A community matron’s hard work has been recognised in the NHS Heroes scheme.
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust employee Catherine Blowers, 58, who has worked in the NHS for more than 40 years, was nominated for going above and beyond the call of duty in Wokingham borough.
Catherine, who works in Twyford and Wargrave, said: “This is a lovely thing to happen. Lots of people go beyond the call of duty so I am accepting this award on behalf of all those people as well. I have worked for the NHS for 40 years and I work with NHS heroes every day.”
Catherine was nominated by colleague Jackie Brown, a Talking Therapies counsellor, who said: “Catherine is always there for her patients, showing them care and kindness. She is a great role model for the NHS.”
The NHS Heroes scheme gives patients, their families and the NHS community an opportunity to honour special individuals.
