Families enjoy croquets and cream tea at Bridge House Nursing Home

Homemade cakes and afternoon tea were a well received treat at a nursing home garden party.

Bridge House Nursing Home, in High Street, Twyford, welcomed friends and family from the home and the neighbourhood for its annual garden party on Sunday, September 2.

Families enjoyed croquet in the eight-acre garden, while children played games by the Georgian period house.

Joyce Brennan, activity co-ordinator, said: “It was a really nice afternoon.

“The weather was lovely.

“This is a great event every summer when we invite the local community to come and join us.”

More than 50 people enjoyed the summer sun and refreshments in the home’s marquee.

Music was provided by Maidenhead Concert Band. Ms Brennan added: “They played all sorts and are a real hit every year. We’ll definitely be asking them to come back next time.”
