Bible stories heard at Woosehill Community Church

By Jon Nurse
September 11, 2012

Bible dramas captured children’s imaginations during a holiday club at Woosehill Community Church.

The On Your Marks Holiday Club ran with an Olympics theme and saw little sprinters take to the track in relay races.

More than 80 children heard stories from the Bible about Jesus calling his team, healing the sick and walking on water.

Licensed Lay Minister Elaine Steere was full of praise for the team of leaders, which included students on their summer break from university and young people from the church’s youth group.

She said: “I am so impressed that these young people worked so hard on the first two days of the holidays.

“They put in a lot of preparation work too, rehearsing together for the dramas which are so popular with the children.”

The team will reassemble for the On Your Marks Reunion service at the church at 10am on Sunday, September 16. There will be bonus scenes of the dramas and a chance to sing their favourite songs.
