“Red tape” that makes it difficult for people to volunteer is to be reduced according to the Government.
In Prime Minister’s Question Time last Thursday, Bracknell MP Dr Phillip Lee asked Nick Hurd, minister for civil society, about the administrative burden of volunteering.
Mr Hurd confirmed they are working to implement the recommendations made by the Civil Society Red Tape Task Force in its May 2011 report ‘Unshackling Good Neighbours.
Dr Lee said: “The value that volunteering brings to the Bracknell constituency is very important and I strongly believe that it should be made easier for enthusiastic people to contribute to the benefit of our local communities.”
