£2,000 grant boost for community groups

Four community groups are the first organisations to be awarded grants by Finchampstead Parish Council this year.
The Community House Cooking Group, Home-Start Wokingham, 1st Finchampstead Scout Group and Relate Berkshire received grants totalling more than £2,000 from the parish council’s 2012/13 budget.
The Scouts plan to use the funding to buy new camping and pioneering equipment, and the Community House Cooking Group intends to use the money to organise a Diamond Jubilee event for the Gorse Ride community.
Grants to Relate Berkshire and Home-Start will enable vital support services to Finchampstead residents to continue.
