A club for people with dementia congratulated a Reading Half Marathon runner for his fundraising efforts.
Woodley Age Concern’s regular club for younger people with dementia hosted a social evening on Wednesday, April 4, where members could congratulate Bill Smallwood, who ran the half marathon in aid of the charity.
Members of Al’s Place gathered at Woodley Age Concern’s centre in South Lake Crescent. The club meets two days a week and hosts a social gathering every other month.
Ann Parr MBE, from Woodley Age Concern, said: “The group has about 40 members and it covers the whole of West Berkshire. We had a singer to provide entertainment and everyone enjoyed themselves.”
Mr Smallwood raised £500 for Al’s Place.
