Last chance to get reduced price stalls at Wokingham May FayreBy Julie Spencer
March 27, 2012
Prices for stalls at Wokingham May Fayre go up at the end of March.
Charities and organisations that want to book a pitch at the fayre must reserve a stall before April 1 to qualify for cheaper rates.
Until April 1 costs are £35 for a charity stall, £40 for a craft stall and £80 for a commercial pitch. After that date, all fees go up by £5.
Wokingham Lions Club is seeking donations towards the cost of running the Bank Holiday event.
Sue Balchin, from the Lions said: “We have been seeking sponsorship to offset the cost of road closures, the stage and the toilets by asking businesses to contribute and the response has been good.
“The Wokingham Society, John Nike, Allderglass, Michael Hardy and Cantley House Hotel have already donated.”
Unwanted china is also needed for the plate smashing stall.
Last year donations of china from charity shops and individuals helped the stall make £400 – and a keen mosaic maker bought all the smashed crockery.
This year’s fayre is on Monday May 7.
