Crackdown on anti-social behaviour following calls from parish NAG

18/ 8/2008

Clamping down on anti-social behaviour has been a top priority in Norreys, with one person being arrested for their antics.

Graffiti at a shelter in Ashridge Road and other similar disorder have been one of the top priorities of Norreys Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG).

Police Community Support Officer Mike Neave, who covers Norreys and Westcott, said: “One offender has now been charged, and will be attending court.

"Anti-social behaviour in the area will not be tolerated.”

The NAG’s next meeting will be on Friday, September 5, at the Brambles Centre in Budges Gardens from 11am.

The meetings provide the opportunity for people living in the area to meet to help discuss and reduce crimes.

Another way community bonds are being strengthened is through a coffee afternoon every Wednesday at the Norreys community flat at 19 Eustace Crescent.

The drop-in lasts between 1.30pm and 3pm.

Anyone with information about the graffiti, or wanting to find out more about the Neighbourhood Action Group, can contact police via the enquiry centre on 0845 8 505 505.
