Past glories on show at town firms

18/ 7/2001

A LITTLE bit of Reading history is set to brighten up the town's workplaces thanks to a new scheme launched by the Museum of Reading.

As part of the Museum's innovative corporate membership scheme, companies can select an artefact for display in their offices.

Delegates from Ernst and Young, Clarks Solicitors, Argent and Energis joined the Mayor of Reading Tony Jones to launch the programme on Monday at the museum.

Catrin John, communications officer at the museum, said: "We were very pleased by the high attendance and all the corporate members seemed excited by the opportunity."

The chosen pieces are all from the museum's stores and are ready to be displayed in offices around the town.

Foster Wheeler, John Holt and Partners, Morgan Cole and Blandy and Blandy have already received the first flying paintings to go out under the scheme.
