Clydesdale banks on wine star Oz

9/ 6/2004

BUSINESS leaders got to taste wines from Down Under with drink expert Oz Clark when a bank opened a new branch in Reading.

More than 100 businesspeople from across the Thames Valley packed into Clydesdale Bank's offices in Forbury Square for the launch of its Business Banking Centre.

Regional business manager John McGilp said: "We have been delighted with the response we've had to the launch event, both in terms of attendance and positive feedback.

"Oz is an educational and entertaining speaker and even a real novice like me came away feeling as if I'd learnt something."

Mr Clark also presented Mr McGilp with a celebratory plaque during the launch, and the bank donated £170 to the Lord Taverner's charity, which encourages youngsters to get involved in cricket.
