Building for future

May 30, 2003

THE PROPERTY developer that built Reading's

international business park has been given top marks for environmental performance.

A report by sustainability consultancy Upstream put Akeler on top of a survey of 19 commercial property developers.

The group was commended for conducting assessments into land contamination, flood risk and climate change, using renewable energy

technologies and supporting and advising tenants on environmental best practice initiatives.

Chief executive Trevor Silver said: "We believe that occupiers want premises constructed with care for the environment in mind.

"This approach produces quality buildings, such as Reading International Business Park, constructed from modern materials and meeting occupiers' needs."
