First creche for Microsoft

18/ 3/2003

COMPUTER giant Microsoft picked Reading out of all its locations across the globe to open its first on-site crèche.

The new nursery at Thames Valley Business Park can accommodate 52 of the staff's children aged between three months and five years.

Microsoft hopes the facility, which is run by Bright Horizons Solutions, will add to existing support for parents, including the Bump Club for mums to be.

Steve Harvey, director of people, profit and culture, said: "This is a fantastic example of the support we can provide to create an environment where great people can do their best work."

Susan Hay, of Bright Horizons Family Solutions, said: "We are really pleased to be working in such an innovative environment."
