Company pride at top honour

9/12/2002

AN ENGINEERING construction company in Reading won two national swords of honour for its safety standards.

Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd (FWEL), in Shinfield Park, is the only business of its type to receive the two trophies from the British Safety Council.

The Swords of Honour reward the country's companies whose health and safety systems protect people, plants, but also their equipment and the environment.

It is the 14th time FWEL, which offers its

engineering services worldwide, has received the national award.

Chris Fox, manager of construction safety and industrial relations, said: "Winning two Swords of Honour this year is a real achievement.

"Foster Wheeler is deeply committed to safety, shown by all of our construction management teams.

"We strive to ensure that our safety record remains untarnished with every project we

undertake."
