Accountants aiming to get cancer on the run

24/ 6/2002

ACCOUNTANTS from Theale-based business adviser KPMG are swapping their pinstripes for

tracksuits as they limber up for a charity run.

The 22-strong squad, all from KPMG's Arlington Business Park office, will be running in Cancer Research's annual Race for Life series of women-only sponsored runs. The Reading event is being held at Prospect Park in west Reading on Wednesday, July 10.

The group is hoping to smash last year's sponsorship total of £2,200.

Team co-ordinator Joanne Stimpson, a tax manager, said: "Race for Life is a great opportunity for us to all pull together as a team, supporting each other through the training while raising as much money as possible.

"We're now looking forward to the run, which has a great atmosphere and is really enjoyable, as well as giving us a great sense of achievement."
