Marks & Spencer's helping hand to Crowthorne Sue Ryder

By Jennie Slevin
February 25, 2013

A charity shop which supports people who require long-term care has been given a helping hand with its fundraising.

The Sue Ryder shop in Crowthorne received a Christmas hamper from Marks & Spencer to help raise the money needed to fund its services.

Susan Pointing, shop manager, said: “The idea was to sell as many tickets as we could and we managed to raise £366.

“Fundraising is very important to us because we rely on that money. I try to run five fundraisers a year.

“We did a tombola and a raffle during the late-night shopping event and that’s always an amazing night because the whole village comes out.”

Crowthorne Parish Council chairman Councillor Bob Wade picked the winning ticket.
