Nabishi’s 25 years of success in Reading
February 14, 2013
Nabishi UK is this year celebrating its 25th anniversary after its humble beginnings from a back bedroom in Reading in the early 1980s.
After initially manufacturing and servicing radio communications equipment, Nabishi went on to develop a successful voice encryption system, which helped the company establish itself as a world leader in the radio communications field.
Today Nabishi UK, based in Upton Road, Tilehurst, exports its technology worldwide and has a wide range of customers, including governments, police and security forces, public utilities, railways and the Ministry of Defence.
More recently, the company won a prestigious Government contract to supply similar technology for communications in defence vessels as well as a lucrative export contract for a Far Eastern government.
Specialising in innovative and niche electronics products, the company also produces secure mobile phones and two-way radios.
Jamie Chowdhary, owner and managing director, said: “I am very proud of all that my team and I have achieved, with God’s help, despite some turbulent times in the world economic climate.
“The fact that from our meagre beginnings we have established a worldwide reputation for communications security products is testament to my team’s talent for innovation. For us the hard work has certainly paid off.”
