Blockbuster goes into administration

By Laura Herbert
January 16, 2013

DVD and game rental firm Blockbuster has gone into administration.

The high street chain, which has 528 stores nationwide, confirmed this afternoon it has called in administrators Deloitte.

Blockbuster has stores in Peach Street in Wokingham, Chalfont Way in Lower Earley and Forest Park in Bracknell.

HMV calls in administrators

The firm's collapse follows that of music and DVD store HMV, which went into administration this week, and camera shop Jessops, which closed all of its stores shortly after announcing it had gone into administration earlier this month.

   Snappy Snaps are a franchise.

I did the inventory on Snappy Snaps in Maidenhead when the franchisee went bankrupt.

I'm amazed it lasted this long. Any digital media retailer is going to face a tough time if they don't adapt. Who's next? Snappy Snaps?
