Staff celebrate opening of Emmview Vet Centre

By Laura Herbert
September 12, 2012

There was a round of ap-paws as a new veterinary centre opened its doors.

Nine Mile Veterinary Group, which also has a practice in Finchampstead, has opened Emmview Vet Centre in Woosehill.

Staff celebrated the centre’s opening with the borough’s dog warden Mandy Dorman, who cut the ribbon last Wednesday.

Julie Peck, practice manager, said: “The opening was tremen-dously successful. We invited some of our current clients and the chief executive of the company came along as well.

“We are thrilled to bits and we had lots of people pop in and say hello on the night.” The practice is based in the former home of Woosehill Vets which was run by Awauh Ohene-Gyan, who was jailed for animal cruelty in July.

Mrs Peck said: “Things at the centre have been going very well.

“We were surprised because we thought we would have to work very hard to reassure people we are a different practice with different standards.

“Fortunately, most people are interested and have been popping in – we have some new clients and have got operations booked as well.”

Mrs Peck added: “It is an ongoing situation but we are thrilled with the way it has started and hope to keep the momentum going.”

I commend the editor for this tremen-dously well proofed piece.

Their Finchampstead practice is excellent, so I'm sure this is nothing but good news for Woosehill pet owners after the dreadful experience they've had with the previous practice there.
