May 09, 2012
A green award has been presented to a Reading-based window company in recognition of its environmentally friendly and energy efficient practices.
Abbey Windows picked up The Climatec Green Award for promoting products such as energy efficient windows, operating its business in an environmentally friendly way and offering recycling facilities to visitors at its Portman Road HQ.
Andrew Young, founder and managing director of Abbey Windows, said: “As members of the Kyocera Mita 10-10 scheme, we found that reducing lighting, heating and vehicle running costs was not only good for the environment, it saved us money.
“Saving money is good sense and being recognised was a real bonus.”
Phil Bates, managing director of Climatec Windows Ltd, said: “One company in particular has bought into this concept wholeheartedly. We are proud to be associated with Abbey and it is good to see them rewarded with lower costs and extra business whilst making efforts to protect and conserve the environment.”
