Anniversary celebration for Shoulder of Mutton

Country pub and restaurant the Shoulder of Mutton is celebrating 10 years under the ownership of Wendy and Alan Oxlade.
The couple took on the eatery in Playhatch in August 2000 and have seen some changes since then.
Mr Oxlade said: “Ten years ago we had the strict 11pm closing times and you didn’t have all the bars in the middle of town and you didn’t have all the pub closures happening as you do now.
“Over the years we have become more specialised with what we do to mark us out from the rest of the pack.”
Mr Oxlade, who is head chef, has introduced a number of dishes using Welsh mutton which has proved very popular.
The menu now includes mutton pie, mutton shepherd’s pie and, of course, their premier dish shoulder of mutton.
The couple have just extended their special 10th anniversary offer of a three-course set menu for £20 for a further two weeks.
