A Reading security manager has picked up a top industry award for making his company ‘as safe as houses.’

Stuart Savill bagged a ‘Service to the Customer’ award in the South East round of the British Security Industry Association’s (BISA) Annual Security Officer Awards 2009.

The 30-year-old was recognised for his contribution to improving security systems at Wilson James Ltd, based at the BG Group in Thames Valley Park.

His input included suggesting changes to the electronic security systems and he has just been promoted to site manager for his continued efforts.

Mr Savill said: “I was really pleased to have made it through the selection process and overjoyed to be chosen as a winner in my category. A lot of hard work was completed to make our solution to BG Group happen, both by myself and my onsite team.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their diligence during a time of rapid change within the contract.”

Trish Kirke, head of business services at BG Group, said: “Stuart makes the best of both technology and manpower to provide effective security.

“His plans have enhanced productivity and increased the motivation of the team. He has produced excellent results and truly deserves this award.”
