McDonald's has announced its 10th consecutive quarter of growth with sales up eight per cent at its Reading branches.

Franchisee Pru Naik, who runs all six restaurants in the town, has welcomed nearly 5,500 more customers per month compared to this time last year.

Mr Naik is currently in the process of refurbishing four of the six eateries – in Reading Gate Retail Park, Oxford Road, The Oracle and Friar Street – and has introduced a state-of-the-art recruitment centre above the Friar Street branch.

The fast food giant is also creating more than 160 new jobs in Reading in response to this sustained growth.

He said: “By investing in a modern new look for my restaurants, I’m delighted to have been able to improve the experience we offer our customers in Reading.

“Our sales figures are a testament to the changes we have made over the past year or so, including the refurbishment of restaurants, improvements to our menu and extended opening hours.

“Our customers understand that we serve good quality food at affordable prices and, with people cutting back on their spending, McDonald’s still offers a variety of choices at prices to suit everyone.”
