Rail staff are set to strike

June 19, 2008

More than 100 Network Rail managers and supervisors at some of the UK’s biggest stations are to stage a one-day strike in a long-running row over pay and conditions.

The Transport Salaried Staffs Association said the walkout from noon on Thursday, June 26, at 17 stations including London’s King Cross, Euston, Paddington, Liverpool Street, Birmingham New Street, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh, would disrupt services.

Staff complain NR won’t guarantee no compulsory redundancies during a reorganisation.
