Timber firm goes green

3/ 7/2007

A READING timber merchant has successfully showcased its new range of environmentally-friendly products at a national conference in London.

Arnold Laver Timber World, which has a branch in Basingstoke Road, demonstrated its goods at the Ecobuild 2007 conference, which focused on the challenges faced by the construction industry in delivering a sustainable future.

Timber World representatives attending the three-day event revealed the company’s efforts to balance their commercial demands with green initiatives to help create a more sustainable environment.

The exhibition, now in its fourth year, attracted thousands of visitors and conference delegates who were keen to view several interactive features including green roofs, eco interiors and a street-scene to demonstrate how sustainable products can be integrated into the urban landscape.

Andrew Wharrier, marketing manager at Arnold Laver, said: “The exhibition was a fantastic opportunity for Arnold Laver to further highlight our commitment to protecting the environment.

“As a company, we believe it is our corporate social responsibility to preserve the world forests and promote effective forestry management.”
