Olympics brain-storming session

15/12/2005

THE 2012 Olympic Games sparked Reading engineers to come up with ideas during a national competition.

The team from Peter Brett Associates, based in Caversham Bridge House at Waterman Place, had to work on a project detailing how the capital’s Olympic village might shape up as part of an NCE (New Civil Engineers) magazine communications competition.

The team headed to London for the contest, organised by the NCE, after winning the regional and national semi finals.

As part of the final last month, the team had to work on a scenario, which involved making a presentation on the long-term benefits of the games.

“The team emerged third among some very tough competition, and all involved came out of the day with a notable achievement under their belts,” a spokesman said after the final at London’s Olympia.
