Insurers scale brave new heights

September 21, 2004

INTREPID insurers from Reading joined their colleagues from across the South on a mountain climbing marathon in the name of charity.

The team from risk insurance company Marsh, including its Brunel Road branch in Theale, managed to scale the UK’s three highest peaks in 24 hours to raise £2,000 for Shelter.

Jason Wells, Tony Barber and David Kennedy and their counterparts Richard Park from the Maidstone office, John Webb of the Southampton branch and James Garratt of the Witham subsidiary, reached the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon peaks in exactly 23 hours and 28 minutes.
