Water waste of money!
28/ 7/2008
According to a survey carried out by consumer magazine Which?, half of all Brits can’t taste the difference between bottled water and tap water – and yet a massive £1.68 billion is spent on the stuff every year!
Bottled water costs around 28p per litre, comes in plastic bottles which take forever to degrade and use valuable resources in the manufacturing process – and then is transported hundreds of miles around the country to our supermarkets in lorries that block up our roads and pollute our air.
Why on earth would anyone buy bottled water that has no benefits whatsoever, when tap water is virtually free (0.22p per litre, apparently) doesn’t need a lorry to get to you, uses no plastic bottle and tastes just as good anyway?
I’ve never bought in to the bottled water thing – unless I’m abroad – so I simply can’t understand why anyone would pay good money for something they can get free. It’s got to be something to do with having more money than sense.
