Talking Rugby: Join us at Holme Park on SundayBy Craig Hunter
May 04, 2012
On April 21 we played our final 1st XV game of the season away at Swanage & Wareham, winning 27-5, a great way to end the season.
Our U12s also played their counterparts at Swanage, narrowly losing the game but still had a fantastic weekend away.
They travelled down with the 1st XV on the team coach, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The 1st XV showed great support to the younger side, clapping them on to the pitch from their changing rooms, a real role reversal.
Last Sunday Reading Rhinos (Vets) played Maidenhead Vets in the Berkshire RFU Vets Cup at Holme Park, and won 13-0 in front of an impressive crowd. Many congratulations to captain Dave Osborne and the squad who managed to add the Vets Cup to the league title already won.
This Sunday we are having our annual memorial game at Holme Park between a Reading Invitation XV and Reading RFC team. The match kicks off at 2pm and the winners will be presented with the Jean Newson Memorial Cup. This day gives us the opportunity to celebrate the lives of all the club members, family and friends that we have sadly lost over the last 12 months and beyond.
We will also be holding a raffle on the day for our charity of the year, Action for Children, and, as ever, everyone is welcome to join us at Holme Park.
