Should hospital parking charges be scrapped?

By Ben Rice
4/ 3/2008

From April 1, charges for parking at NHS Hospitals in Wales are to be scrapped after a campaign by cancer patients who could not afford the cost of frequent visits for treatment.

Isn’t it time that we followed suit in England?

Last year my partner was in hospital for a week following the birth of our daughter and the parking charges at the Royal Berkshire Hospital are almost as much as the Oracle.

For some, a visit to see a loved one unfortunate to be receiving care over a long period of time would be too expensive.

What do you think?
