Should hospital parking charges be scrapped?

Ben Rice

From April 1, charges for parking at NHS Hospitals in Wales are to be scrapped after a campaign by cancer patients who could not afford the cost of frequent visits for treatment.

Isn’t it time that we followed suit in England?

al charging on nhs sites must stop.the nhs was funded by national insurance taken out off your wages .has this stopped or are we just being fleeced by the goverement. The huddled masses of this country want to stand up and be heard .One voice saying its about time the goverement listened to the people who voted them in .and not try too con everyone out of their hard earned cash.

parking charges in hospitals are just taking advantage of the sick.To recoup money lost in parking revenue they should make those not entitled to free health service pay up front for treatment not chase them for the money afterwards and then let them get away with not paying the bill.

I think it's unfair that people visiting the hospital should pay but you don't want to end up with a situation where people abuse the system and park there when they want to do shopping. I'm sure they can find a way of filtering the genuine visitors and not charging them.
